•  Welcome: We welcome our guests who are visiting with us for the first time. Please join us for lunch in the Chapel after the noon service.

•  Awana: Registration for Awana Clubs begins today (8/16, 23, 30) in the lobby after the Noon Service, for clubbers age 4 by September 1 through 5th grade this year. Club begins on September 11 and runs through May 21, 2010. Cost is $60 for the school year and includes all materials, awards, and uniforms. Clubbers registered by8/30 will receive 10 Awana Shares.

•  Children's Sunday School Teachers: God is always working but are we expecting to see Him at work? One way to see God working up close and personal is through seeing His hand in the lives of children—as they sing, as they play, as they learn about Jesus. If you are interested in seeing God through the words and actions of children this school year, please contact Alex Tsui at 281-265-2988 or Cindy Hong at cindyh@hcchome.org. A “Round-Up” and brunch will be on August 29.

•  Carol Huang Scholarship Awarded: The following students were awarded the above scholarship :Joy Chang, Lianyi Fan, Yuan Yuan Li & Jenny Sun. Presentation will be held today at Morning Service.

•  Additional Dates for Pictorial Church Directory: HCC is in the process of compiling a pictorial church directory for 2009 in August (8/18-22). We are adding September 8, 9 and 10 (Tues, Wed and Thurs) for the picture sessions. Please make time to have you or your family photo taken by scheduling your appointment in the lobby today. Each family who participates will receive a complimentary portrait.

•  Chinese School New School Year: Will start next Sunday 8/23 at 2:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. For registrations, please go the Chinese School counter on 2 nd floor or contact Principal Chen at 713-560-9424 or wenwenc@yahoo.com .

•  Youth Choir : Will start on 8/30 (Sunday), 12:45pm-1:30pm, in the Youth Center .  All 6th-12th graders are welcome.  Please contact Ping Lin for additional information at (713) 666-3816 or shuang@sleh.com .

•  Church Members Meeting:   Will take place next Sunday 8/23, immediately after the Morning and Noon worship services to confirm the Elders and Deacons for 2010-2011 Church Council. If you cannot attend the meeting, please take a ballot from the church office this week and cast your vote.

•  Prayer for Children: As school will begin in one week, HCC has joined with almost 100 other churches in our community to commit the next 7 days to pray for the at-risk children in our neighborhood. A prayer guide is enclosed in the church bulletin for your use. God does hear our prayers and can make a difference.
