•  Welcome: We welcome our guests who are visiting with us for the first time. Please join us for lunch in the Chapel after the noon service.

•  Church Members Meeting:   Will take place today immediately after the Morning and Noon worship services to confirm the Elders and Deacons for 2010-2011 Church Council. Please cast your vote.

•  Awana: Registration for Awana Clubs continues today and also on 8/30 in the lobby after the Noon Service, for clubbers age 4 by September 1 through 5th grade this year. Club begins on September 11 and runs through May 21, 2010. Cost is $60 for the school year and includes all materials, awards, and uniforms. Clubbers registered by 8/30 will receive 10 Awana Shares.

•  Children's Sunday School Teachers: God is always working but are we expecting to see Him at work? One way to see God working up close and personal is through seeing His hand in the lives of children—as they sing, as they play, as they learn about Jesus. If you are interested in seeing God through the words and actions of children this school year, please contact Alex Tsui at 281-265-2988 or Cindy Hong at cindyh@hcchome.org. A “Round-Up” and brunch will be on August 29.

•  Chinese School New School Year : Will start today at 2:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. For registrations, please go to the Chinese School counter on the 2 nd floor or contact Principal Chen at 713-560-9424 or wenwenc@yahoo.com .

•  Additional Dates for Pictorial Church Directory: We are adding September 8, 9 and 10 (Tues, Wed and Thurs) for the picture sessions. Please make time to have you or your family photo taken by scheduling your appointment in the church office today.

•  Youth Choir : Will start on 8/30 (Sunday), 12:45pm-1:30pm, in the Youth Center .  All 6th-12th graders are welcome.  Please contact Ping Lin for additional information at (713) 666-3816 or shuang@sleh.com .

8.    Youth Ministry Program Schedule : Beginning in September, the youth ministry program schedule will be changing to better meet our mission of making God-loving and compassionate disciples of Jesus Christ among our youth.  We do this through three steps – Enter, Engage, and Involve. Entering happens on Sunday mornings where the youth will join English Service 9:15-10:30am and then come to Oxygen 11:00am-12:15pm.  Friday nights are designed to help students Engage and will be reserved for Discipleship Groups for both high school and middle school from 8:00pm-10:00pm.  Sign-ups for D-Groups are going on now.

9.    Youth Leaders : We still need people passionate about youth to serve with us as Crowd Program Leaders and Discipleship Group leaders.  We could even use a couple of people to stand by as substitute teachers for Oxygen.  If interested, please contact David Carter at davidc@hcchome.org.
