Prayer Items * * * * * * * * * * 04/26-05/03 , 2006 ADORATION "Who among the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you-- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?" Exodus 15:11 Praise the Lord for being majestic in his holiness, awesome in his glory, and wonderful in all his works. Praise the Lord for his faithfulness and goodness in last weekend's ministries : the many who has attended the planning meeting for the HCC Music Night, Pastor Hsueh and Pastor Tow's preaching on the centrality of the cross and local and global evangelism; the sharing of Alex Leung in the English service.
"I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin." Psalm 38:18 Confess to the Lord our sins and iniquities and thank him for his forgiveness in our lives. THANKSGIVING "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done." 1 Chronicles 16:8 Thank the Lord for all that he has done in our lives, including providing us with our daily needs and giving us a purpose for living. SUPPLICATION "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:18 Around the World 1. Republic of
Djibouti : Africa 's third smallest state is an impoverished country
in the midst of many warring countries. It is a key base for Christian
witness. Pray that the present freedom not be eroded and that the churches
be united and cooperate effectively. Pray for the ministry of the Afars
and Somalis in education, public health, literature, Bible translation,
literacy and youth work leading to disciples for Jesus.
2. Pray for the
climbing gasoline prices. May it be brought under control.
Our
Church and Other Ministries
3. Pray for Pastor
Hsueh and Pastor Tow as the make preparation to preach this Sunday.
Pray for the sharing of Compassion International and the soloist, Sara
Juracan during worship services.
4. Pray for the
preparation of CityFest Evangelism Exploration in the City of Houston
which will be held in October. May God increase our desire to reach
out to the lost.
5. Pray for missionary
Mony Tsoi. May God protect her and guide her ministry as she returns
to Asia . Pray that God watch over her health and the students she serve.
6. Pray
for Missionary Rita Leung in Thailand . Pray that her blood pressure
would be under control. Pray for God's guidance as she consider for
her future ministry direction.
7. Pray
for the summer children ministry. May God grant Minister Cindy Hong
wisdom to plan the different program and activities for the children
on Fridays and Sundays during the summer.
8. Pray for the
planning and promotion of HCC Music night on 6/30. May God grant us
a great time of fellowship with members from other groups and fun through
music. May we be drawn closer to each other and to God through this
event.
9. Pray for Henry
and Katherine Mui as they assume the responsibility of advisors to the
Cantonese Student Fellowship. Pray that God grant them wisdom and patience.
10. Pray for the
Q & A session of the Gospel of Judas. May God grant wisdom to our
pastoral staff and that those who attend will be strengthen in their
faith..
Individuals
11. Pray for Alice
Lee. She fainted at home last week. Pray for God's protection and healing.
Also remember Kwok-Fu who is ministering in China . Also pray for Rev.
Tom Malone who had minor surgery this week.
12. Pray for Sammy
Yee, father of Bless Yee, a member of our youth choir. He was diagnosed
with acute liver cancer. Pray for God's mercy in his life. May his peace
be upon the family.
13. Pray for Liang
Zhang, brother of Michelle Zhang. May he turn to God from his despair
and depression. May God give him purpose and meaning in life.
14. Pray for the
families of Adam Chen and Guiying Hu. Adam's mother went to the Lord
on 4/16 and memrorial service was held on 22th. Guiying is in China
attending her mother's funeral. Her mother passed away in China on 4/22.
Pray that their hearts will be lifted in you and that God will fill
them with His peace. Pray that their faith will sustain them.
15. Pray for the
eye operation of Yang-Cheng Tsu Sung, the mother in law of Jennifer
Yang. Pray for a smooth operation and quick recovery.
16. Pray for the
physically weak and those who are recovering: Stella Law, Luella Hwang,
Hushan Yang, Dennis Huang, Shirley Huang, Mrs. Ting Chung Liao, Grace
Chen, Doris Tam, Mrs. Chen L. Wu, Mrs. Lee Ying Wang, Huifeng Liu and
Jun Xiu's daughter, Helen, James Chen and David Qin. Pray that they
experience the comforting hand of our lord when they are suffering and
when they are discouraged.
17. Continue to
pray for those who are seeking employment: Shih-Hsin Kao, Katherine
Mui, and others. Pray that God strengthens their faith and grant them
patience.
18. Pray for the
health of the expectant mothers and their babies: Kelly Ma, Cecelia
Lee, Hong Ling, Yen Kong and Ariel Huang. Pray for protection during
their time of waiting.
