ADORATION

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. Psalm 30:4

Praise God because He is worthy of our praise and thank Him for his holiness.

CONFESSION

"I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you."

Luke 15:18

Because of Jesus Christ, we can come before God without fear and confess to Him our sin and ask for forgiveness.

THANKSGIVING

Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 5:20

In the name of Jesus Christ we give thanks for everything. We are thankful for the sermons delivered by Pastor Hsueh and Pastor Tow; the song presentation by the Mandarin Young Professional Fellowship in celebrating their 30 th anniversary.

Around the World

1. Republic of Niger : with the Sahara desert in the central and northern part of the country. From the 80's until now, due to famine and the economic collapse, 90% of the population lives at a barely subsistent level. Even as this country enjoys considerable freedom of religions and few restrictions on mission work, many believers are isolated, often illiterate and rarely have systematic teaching available. Pray for more laborers for all parts of the country and for sensitivity in helping the small young churches and their leaders to maturity.

2. Pray for God's mercy and protection during the hurricane and typhoon season. Pray that the tropical storm Ernesto and Hurricane John will not cause any serious damage to lives and properties.

Our Church and Other Ministries

3. Pastor Hsueh will be preaching in both services this week. May God grant him wisdom and strength in his preparation.

4. We thank God for bringing many new students to the welcoming party last Saturday and to our Sunday services. May God bless them in their adjustment to their new environment. May the good news of the gospel reach each one of them through His people.

5. Pray for the Mandarin Fellowships' retreat this weekend. May God grant travel mercies for the attendees. We pray that He uses the retreat to strengthen their relationship with God and His children. May the seekers there get to know God and put their trust in Him.

6. The Fall quarter of the Adult Sunday School will begin soon. May God bless all the teachers in their weekly lesson preparations. May many students commit to enroll in the new quarter.

7. The handbell choir is still accepting enrollment. May God provide the needed ringers. May those who signed up be committed in learning and serving through this ministry.

8. Pray for the Christmas pageant ensemble as they work out a schedule for their first meeting and rehearsals.

9. The Choir Festival for the many choirs from the Chinese churches in the area and the open concert will take place on Saturday, 9/23. May God use this event to bring His children to a higher level of service and unity.

10. The Bible Study Fellowship hosted by HCC begins on 9/12. Pray that many will attend and seek deeper biblical knowledge and share how to apply it in their lives.

11. Brother Yong An Zhou and his wife are returning to Asia . We thank God for bringing him to our midst. May God use them and what they have learned to minister to their church.

12. Pray for Pastor Hsueh as he prepares to leave for his mission teaching trip. May God grant travel safety, good health and open doors. May God use him richly and mightily.

Individuals

13. Pray for God's healing and provision to Wen Hua Xu (father of Ingrid Song) who suffered a stroke last week while visiting the family here. May he experience God's love and open his heart to Him. Continue to remember Sophia, baby girl of Hong Zhang and Qiang Zhao as she is being looked after by the doctors.

14. We thank God for answering many prayers. At home and/or under doctor's care : John Joe's grandmother, Aimee Yuan (eye treatment), Shirley Huang (dialysis), Dennis Huang, James Chen (at M.D. Anderson), Ting Liang, Ting Chung Liao, Xuedong Dai (back problem) and his mother (anemic), David Qin, Jing Li, Richard Bao ( Stoney Brook Health Center), Liang Zhang, Hushan Yang, Lee Ying Wang, Ngan Wai (Amy Tong's mother), Erlinda Aquino (Jennifer Aquino's mother), Ding Qin Shen's father-in-law, Julia Xu Liu, Cynthia Chan's father (Prostate cancer), and Paul Quan (JoAnna Quan's father)(Methodist Hospital).

15. Praise God that Shih Hsin Kao has been offered a position after one year. May God watch over him and his family. Continue to pray for Weilie Pang and Fang Fang as they await employment opportunities.

16. Praise God for baby girl Elizabeth Grace born to Ming-Chon and Vivien Liu. May God continue to watch over the expectant mothers: Yen Yen Kong, Yaxia Zou, Stephanie Chiang , Esther Szeto, Yingqing Guo, Emay Yeng, and Alice Ho. Pray for the new parents and babies that they be blessings to each other.

17. Peter Ou's grandmother passed away in Taiwan . Pray that God would comfort Peter and his family and to experience heavenly peace. Jasmine Wong's grandmother went to be with the Lord. Pray that our Lord grant Jasmine and her family peace and guide them in all things.
