ADORATION

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

Pray that we take time out of this day to lift our voice to our Lord in praise and worship. Fill our heart with songs to His glory.

CONFESSION

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8,9

Pray that we confess our sins to each other and pray for each other for all our unconfessed sins including wrong attitudes, actions and words.

THANKSGIVING

We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds.

Psalm 75:1

We thank our Lord for dwelling in our heart and lives that there can be power in our prayers.

SUPPICATION

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. Jeremiah 29:12

Around the World

1. Republic of Lebanon : It is located on the site of ancient Phoenicia between modern Israel and Syria . It gained its independence in 1943 as a republic with a constitution based on the balance of 18+ religious communities. It has long been one of the key centers for Christian ministries to the whole Middle East . Before the civil war, over 50% of the population was Christian but now reduced to 30%. Lebanon is also the only Arab state not officially Muslim but is legally free to change ones' religious affiliation although the social consequences of personal conversion to Christ are immense. Pray that the Lebanese believers may regain a vision for others and for other lands. Pray for the return of leaders and missionaries who have left the country and pray for the renewal of local evangelical Bible schools. Pray for increased cooperation between the denominations that would result in significant advances for the Kingdom.

2. Pray for those who have lost lives and hundreds of thousands displaced in some of the worst floods for years in India , Bangladesh and Nepal . Pray that food, clean drinking water and medical aid will reach the affected areas effectively and quickly.

Our Church and Other Ministries

3. We thank God for bring Pastor Yuhshi Lu to serve as our Chinese Caring Pastor. Remember him and his ministries in your prayer.

4. Praise God for last week's ministries: (a) the partaking of the Lord's Supper; (b) the sermon on ‘ River of Grace ' delivered by Pastor Hsueh.

5. Praise God for answered prayer. The Uganda short-term mission team was able to gain permission to travel to Pakwach , Uganda on Saturday and evangelism has begun. Pray for opportunities to witness, endurance and great harvest. Pray for the short-term mission teams in the field: (a) the SE Asia team and their summer English camp; (b) Pastor Ling and Dorna on their Music Mission in teaching, training and preaching.

6. Pray for the Family Life Ministry and the preparation for a marriage conference, seminars and activities to be held in September and October. Pray that many will take advantage of these opportunities to build strong marriages and strengthen families.

7. Pray for the preparation of the coming AWANA year. Pray for many early registrations and volunteers joining for another fruitful and exciting year.

8. Pray for the preparation of the Christmas pageant on 12/7 and 8 and the Christmas Eve service. Pray for Iris Li and other co-workers as they continue to finalize the writing, music, actors and other pageant volunteers.

9. Praise God for the conclusion of fruitful and enjoyable youth camps. Pray that the close relationship the attendees experienced with the Lord and with each other will be stamped in their hearts and for continued growth in their walk with God.

10 .Pray for those seeking guidance from God in how they may serve at HCC in the coming year; that they may be led and moved by the Lord.

11. Praise God for a timely and successful appendectomy for Jane Yip and pray for a quick recovery in order to travel next week. Pray for comfort and continued recovery for: Jun Li from Oklahoma (Chemo), Mony Choi's mother (back pain and Shingles), Zhi Qiang Lu (Chemo), Hsien Tan Lin, mother of Emmanuel and Samuel Lin, Lesley Chong's father, Kim Wong 's mother, You May Lan, Vincent Kau, Julia Jing Xu, James Wang's mother (chemotherapy), Alice Chen, Xin Shu Qin, Lingwen Li's mother, Yong Wu's mother, Josephine Chan's mother, Ding Qin Shen's father-in-law, Xuedong Dai and his mother, Cynthia Chan's father, Ed Fong's grandfather, Shirley Huang (dialysis), Ting Liang, Xuedong Dai (back problem), Liang Zhang, Hushan Yang, Lee Ying Wang, Jing Li, Zili Geng and Lili Chu's father.

12.Continue to pray for Weilie Pang and those seeking employment. May God provide opportunities and open doors.

13.Praise God for the birth of a baby girl, Lily, to Guoxing Yang and Shuangyan Wang on 8/3, weighing 9lb14.9oz, and twins (boy and girl) born to Ke He and Yanyang Xiao on 8/7. Continue to pray for good health and comfort for expectant mothers: Kelly Ma, Grace Fong, Rita Wei Chang, Linong Xiu, Sylvia Yung, Li Liu Cao, Hangming Yin Yang, and Zhiying Chen.
