ADORATION

He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that

your eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 10:21

Our God is faithful and worthy of our praise. He has done great and amazing things which we can see. He has also done things that are unseen. Let us offer our praise and thanksgiving.

CONFESSION

Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! Psalm 25:7

We pray to the Lord for forgiveness and have received it for our sins. Pray that the Lord teaches us to indeed believe our sins are forgiven in the glory of God's grace. May we learn and grow from past sins.

THANKSGIVING

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

We are thankful for the Lord for hearing our prayer, granting peace in our heart and calling us to be in a community in Him to grow and worship.

SUPPICATION

The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:9

Around the World

1.   Republic of Macedonia : is a landlocked state in the Balkans surrounded by Yugoslavia , Bulgaria , Greece and Albania . It is a former republic of Yugoslavia with many ethnic groups of Macedonian, Serbian, Bosnian, Albanian, Gypsy and Turk with 8 languages spoken. Pray that the government seeks peace and justice for all its people. Historically the Orthodox Church has a strong influence making it difficult for Christians from other countries to work as missionaries. Pray for the small number of evangelical churches that they would have a vision and passion to see more people knowing Christ.

Our Church and Other Ministries

2. Praise God for last week's ministries: (a) the sermons by Pastor Hsueh; (b) the VBS held at Mark VI.

3.     Pray for Pastor Hsueh as he prepares to preach this Sunday in both services, speak in different fellowship groups. Pray for good health, adequate rest and good time management.

4.     Praise God that (1) Pastor Ling and Dorna are back safely from their Asia short-term mission; (2) the returning of the Macau team; and (3) the safe arrival of Minister Linh Phan and Sister Sho-wei Loh in Almaty. Pray that our Lord grant them wisdom and protect them from harm. Remember Andy and Kwai-Ling Au in our prayers as they are being trained for their teaching for the coming months.

5. Pray for the students beginning a new school year to form good habits and discipline. May the Lord be honored in their lives at school.

6. Pray for the New Heart team who will travel to Australia . May the Lord protect and grant them strength to do His work.

7.   Pray for the Christmas pageant preparation. Praise God that the choral ensemble has begun its rehearsal. May the Lord guard the heart of each member to be faithful.

8.     Pray for Pastor Tow as he continues to write his dissertation. May God help him to ably set aside time in the midst of heavy ministry.

9.   Pray for the many new college students arriving in Houston . Pray for the effectiveness of the college ministry at HCC. Also Pray for Peter Ou as he diligently works on the campus ministry here and in Austin .

11.   Pray for the handbell choir registration. May the Lord move in the hearts of our congregation and grant them the desire to learn and serve in this special area. May we treasure the privilege and resources God has granted us.

12.   Pray for the Labor Day travelers that God watch over them. Pray for a meaningful, relaxing and fruitful vacation.

13.   Pray for the new Sunday school quarter. May God bless the teachers in their lesson preparations and for more students to realize the need to attend and to be spiritually equipped and edified.

14. Pray for the physically weak: Hsien Tan Lin, mother of Emmanuel and Samuel Lin (readmitted), JiJun Li ( post surgery), You May Lan, Kim Wong's mother, Jane Yip, Mony Choi's mother, Zhi Qiang Lu (Chemo), Lesley Chong's father, Julia Jing Xu, James Wang's mother (chemotherapy), Alice Chen, Xin Shu Qin, Lingwen Li's mother, Yong Wu's mother, Josephine Chan's mother, Ding Qin Shen's father-in-law, Xuedong Dai (back problem),and his mother, Cynthia Chan's father, Ed Fong's grandfather, Shirley Huang (dialysis), Liang Zhang, Hushan Yang, Lee Ying Wang, Jing Li and Zili Geng.

15.   Continue to pray for brothers and sisters seeking new employment: Weilie Pang, Jianping Zhao and Longjiang Shao. May God provide opportunities and open doors.

16. Praise God for the birth of a baby boy, Samuel, to Kin and Sylvia Yung on 8/26. Pray for the many families with new babies. May God protect, strengthen and bless them with joy and patience. Continue prayers for the expectant mothers: Kelly Ma, Rita Wei Chang, Linong Xiu, Li Liu Cao, Zhiying Chen and Selina Lei.
