ADORATION

Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power. Psalm 21:3

Pray that God works through us to praise Him. Let His power flow through us.

CONFESSION

For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us,

and we know our iniquities: Isaiah 59:12

Pray for God's forgiveness for we have sinned against you and against those who are close to us. Pray that His spirit will fill us and that we shall not sin again.

THANKSGIVING

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6,7

Pray that we always walk in Jesus and give Him our thanksgiving for He gives us His love and Grace in abundance.

SUPPICATION

The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:9

Around the World

1. Republic of Senegal : is the most western part of Africa . It gained independence from France in 1960 and is one of the most stable democracies in Africa . It has freedom of religion despite the large Muslim majority. In 2000, over 92% of the population is Muslim with the Sufi's being most influential politically and economically. Pray for a new receptivity to the gospel in this country. Christian leaders are few and pray that many more will be raised up who can pastor believers, be strong leaders. Six of the 52 languages have been translated in the New Testaments. Pray for the work of the Bible translation of 16 other languages. Also pray for encouragement among the mostly young and inexperienced missionary teams and for the work of the Scripture on tape and Christian radio programs.

2.  Pray for those who are recovering after flooding, mudslide and diseases around the world. May God have mercy and that they would be ministered to by Christians and that their lives would be touched by God.

Our Church and Other Ministries

3. Praise God for last week's ministries: (1) the church-wide picnic. Over three hundred were able to attend and enjoyed the excellent weather and fellowship; (2) The quarterly combined prayer meeting; (3) The Lord's Supper Sunday services, the youth choir's message and the sermon by Pastor Hsueh. (4) The membership meeting to confirm church council nominations.

4. Praise God for the brothers and sisters who will be baptized this Sunday: Song Tao Liu, Mu Sheng Xiong, Ai Zhen Wan, Lisa Zhang, Xiao Jun Huang, Jun Qing Gu, Bing Lu, Fong Ngan and Hong Chen. We also praise God for the following new members: Xia Ru Liu, Nhi Can Tran, Lilly Hu, Wai Lam Chan, Weidong Wu and Xiaohong Shi. May they continue to grow in Christ.

5. Pray for the Father and Son Retreat this weekend. May God watch over their travel and bless each family as they draw closer to God and to each other more.

6. Pray for the Noon Service Choir Retreat in Galveston on 10/19-21. May God provide suitable weather and excellent fellowship. May each member have an open heart for God's message.

7. Pray for the seven couples renewing their marriage vows in a ceremony on 10/14 afternoon. May God strengthen their relationships with God and their spouses.

8. Pray for the pulpit ministry. May God speak through Pastor Hsueh. May we not only listen but also practice God's word.

9. Pray for the monthly church council meeting this Saturday. May God grant wisdom and strength to the members and decisions to be made according to God's will.

10. Pastor Yuhshi Luh will be installed on 10/21. May the Lord watch over and guide him in his ministries. May we warmly welcome him with our support and friendship, making it an easy transition to HCC.

11.  Pray for the Bible Conference with Pastor Jonathan Liu on 10/26-28. May God renew and revive our spirits as individuals, family, church and the kingdom.

12.  Pray for Minister Cindy Hong as she travels and teaches in Philadelphia . May God strengthen, protect and provide for her needs. Pray that she takes time to rest and be with family during her vacation in N.C.

13. Pray for our newly confirmed council members: Andy Au (teaching in Asia), Peng Feng, Gary Ge, Cindy Yeng, Pei-Fen Chang (currently in California ) and Jun Yun.

Individuals

14. Remember families who have lost loved ones: Alison Woo's uncle, Harry Lei, and Peter Ou's aunt passed away last week. May God comfort and grant them peace.

15. Pray for Mr. and Mrs. Yang-Hwa Chang. Mr. Chang is recovering from an eye operation and Mrs. Chang from a gall bladder operation. May the Lord grant them speedy recovery. Remember the physically weak and those in recovery: mother of Emmanuel and Samuel Lin, Mony Tsoi's mother, Lesley Chong's father, Julia Jing Xu, James Wang's mother, Alice Chen, Xin Shu Qin, Lingwen Li's mother, Yong Wu's mother, Josephine Chan's mother, Xuedong Dai (back problem), and his mother, Cynthia Chan's father, Ed Fong's grandfather, Shirley Huang, Liang Zhang, Hushan Yang, Lee Ying Wang, Jing Li and Zili Geng.

16. Continue to pray for patience and perseverance for brothers and sisters seeking new employment: Weilie Pang, Jianping Zhao, and Longjiang Shao.

17. Continue prayers for the expectant mothers: Kelly Ma, Linong Xiu, Zhiying Chen, Selina Lei and Hong Chen Xi.
