LOCAL OUTREACH
Our Vision for Local Outreach: To take the message of Jesus Christ to where the people live, study, and/or work in the local communities that HCC serves.
Local Outreach at HCC spans ministries sponsored by HCC or in joint operation with other ministry partners. Community Service and Evangelism are the two main components of HCC's Local Outreach ministry.
 
The purpose of Community Service is to service our local communities spiritually, physically, and emotionally. In the quest to achieve this goal, HCC dedicates itself through volunteerism and hosting and sponsoring ministries that help not only better our community, but to live and show the love of Christ to every single person.
Some volunteer programs that HCC participates in or coordinates locally at HCC are:
- Angel Tree Prison Ministry
- George R. Brown Thanksgiving Dinner
- Health Days and blood and bone marrow drives
- Clothing Drives
Ministries and programs that HCC hosts and sponsors year-round are:
- Agape Learning Center
- A day care ministry co-sponsored by HCC and the Chinese Christian Herald Crusade.

- Houston Chinese Church Chinese Language School
- The Houston Chinese Church Chinese Language School has been a ministry of HCC for the past 20 years with its mission of promoting and educating students in Mandarin and Cantonese and about the broader Chinese culture in Asia and across the world.

- English Buddy
- English Buddy is a Community Service Ministry that HCC that helps non-native English speakers build their English speaking skills by partnering them up with an "English Buddy" to not only improve their conversational English, but to build friendships at the same time.

- Carol Huang Memorial Scholarship Program
- The Carol Huang Memorial Scholarship was established to help those that are in financial need for post-secondary education. Five $1000 scholarships are awarded to five students every year.

Evangelism is the second component of Local Outreach at HCC. Evangelism is a lifestyle, and HCC is committed to encouraging believers in Christ through different ministries how to develop friendships while praying for opportunities to share with others the love of Christ with non-Christians
- Evangelism Explosion (EE)
- EE is a tool of personal evangelism that can be seen as “on the job” training. Through EE classroom lectures and real life visitations, EE instruct students in biblically-based methods on how to present the Gospel to relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Through a “10 step” plan, classroom lectures and team learning experiences, students build a theologically-sound basis on the framework of the Gospel to help present God’s plan clearly.

- Mark VI Ministry
- The Mark VI Ministry reaches out to the residents of the Mark VI Apartments in southwest Houston through potlucks, ESL, and Bible studies. VBS and carnivals are hosted on a regular basis at the apartment complex as larger outreach events.

- Annual Church Picnic
- The Annual Church Picnic is a large outdoor event where the HCC family and friends gather together for a day of fun and food.

- Annual HCC Talent Show
- Evangelistic seminars w/ featured keynote speakers
- Evangelistic Bible studies hosted by different fellowship groups
- Ailan Fellowship Monthly Outreach
- Ailin's monthly outreach program features a potluck style dinner, worship, and a keynote speaker that reaches out to the ever-growing mainland Chinese community in Houston. On occasion, a children's program is sponsored by Children's Evangelistic Fellowship.

- KHCB Radio Ministry
- HCC partners with other Houston-area Chinese churches to produce the KHCB Chinese Program which broadcasts on 105.7 FM.

- Seaman Ministry
HCC partners with other missionaries from HCC and West Houston Chinese Church at the Port of Houston, the United States' largest port. The Seaman Ministry allows us to share and speak with sailors from all over the world
