Urgent!
What to do? Conrad Loh
In the television series 24, Jack
Bauer is a federal agent who spends twenty four hours saving the world
more than once. Though we may not be saving the world like Jack, our day
is just as packed and busy as his. With only 24 hours in a day, our time
is very limited and there are many needs that must be met.
How
do we determine which is of more importance? How can we be at peace with
our decisions knowing if we say yes to this we are saying no to that?
With many useful tasks undone and urgent human needs unmet Christ was
able to say in John 17 “I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me
to do”. Jesus was able to be at peace for He prayerfully waited for
His Father's instructions. He daily asked the Father what He wanted Him
to do. May we follow in the footsteps of Christ by starting our day asking
God what it is He wants us to do. Then we will be at peace and able to
say, “I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do.”
