Recently
I got a letter from a Sister in Christ. She told me that she has just
finished a degree and is now studying another course in order to increase
her value. My immediate response was that the idea was theologically incorrect.
Later I learned that the idea of added value has become a culture in Hong
Kong . People continue to study for diploma after diploma in order to
get recognized and get promotion or salary advancement. The Octopus card
they are using needs to be uploaded (add value) frequently so that they
can be used continuously..
The
Bible told us that we were created in God's image. In God's eyes, we are
all precious. He has no regards to our outlook, achievements or income.
Everyone of us is redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We are
saved by grace, not by work. Thank you, Lord!
