Passover
Lamb
Minister Linh Phan
Before
the Israelites left Egypt , God commanded each clan to kill a lamb and
smear the blood across the top and the sides of the door. God pass over
the doorway and their first born was not struck down (Exodus 12:21-27).
Their descendants observe the Passover and the lamb in remembrances of
what God has done.
In
the New Testament, Jesus is our sacrificial lamb (ICor. 5:7). Through
the death of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven and pardoned. Similarly,
the partaking of the Lord's Supper is another remembrance of our deliverance
from God's judgment through the blood that Christ shed for us. God has
sent His perfect lamb to die on our behalf. Therefore, let us bring a
thankful heart and celebrate every time we take part in the Lord's Supper.
God has provided us the Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ himself.
